Gurugram’s Aditya Raj Kumar Chauhan (75-70) and Panchkula’s Martendeya Kanishka Sinha (74-71) finished on top of the leader board at the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying (II) for the 2020 season, after ending the second round with identical totals of 1-over-145.
From a total field of 88 in Pre Qualifying (II), as many as 26 players qualified for the Final Qualifying Stage. Five players were tied in 22nd position when the cut was declared at 8-over-152 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club (Ahmedabad). Chauhan, who was tied- 13th and five off the lead after round one, shot the day’s best score of 2-under-70 to rise to the top. Chauhan’s round featured five birdies and three bogeys. Sinha meanwhile mixed three birdies and two bogeys in his round of 1-under-71 that lifted him 11 spots from his overnight 12th. Mumbai-based amateur Keshav Mishra and Gurugram’s Tinku Badliya, two of the round one joint leader, slipped to tied-3rd at 2-over-146. The two other players in tied-3rd were Ahmedabad-based amateur Anshul Patel and Gurugram’s Saurav Rathi. Amateur Vinay Kumar Yadav of Gurugram, another joint leader from round one, dropped to seventh place at 3-over-147. Pre Qualifying III will be staged from January 10 to 11.
