‘Mera favourite toh aap hi ho’ says a little girl to Olympic gold medalist Neeral Chopra. The digital world gives thumbs up to this video

Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has touched many people with his performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Since the historic day, his public appearances and life story have been winning hearts. The latest being this little girl in Panipat, Neeraj’s hometown.

In an interaction with people at the Panipat Sports Stadium in Haryana that was caught on camera, the 23-year-old athlete can be seen almost kneeling to talk to a small kid who tells Neeraj ‘you are my favourite’. This girl in pink hoodie says in Hindi, “Humaare favourite to aap hi ho (you alone are my favourite)”.  Neeraj then smiles to the innocent words and gently pats on her cheek with affection.

IPS officer Pankaj Nain, director of Sports and Youth Affairs in Haryana, who shared the clip on Twitter, captioned it, “Look at the simplicity of this man, interacting with kids at Panipat Sports Stadium today. Way to go champion”.

The cute video has been viewed over 24,000 times and has garnered love and praise from the javelin thrower fans. Compliments such as ‘down-to-earth, India’s real hero, champion, our idol’ have filled the comment section.
