Need more players like Chhetri, says coach Stimac

Kolkata, June 18

India head coach Igor Stimac today expressed concern at the lack of quality footballers at the national level and urged the top-tier Indian Super League and I-League to play proactive roles to produce players like Sunil Chhetri. He said the national team suffered from “all the weakness that is apparent in the country’s top league, the ISL”. “We can just use what we get from ISL and I-League. “But where to find someone like that (Chhetri)?” he said. — PTI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
