Premier India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin could take only one wicket in the 43 overs he bowled on the second day of the County Championship match between Surrey and Somerset here today. Ashwin, who is one of the three Indian spinners to take over 400 Test wickets, gave away 99 runs. The Indian cricketers, who are on a three-week break, will assemble on July 15 at Durham for a camp ahead of the series against England.

Para-shuttler Palak to play in three events in Tokyo

Para-badminton player Palak Kohli will compete in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles events in the upcoming Tokyo Paralympics. Kohli received her BWF invitation to participate in the women’s singles (SU5) category as well as in the SL3-SU5 mixed doubles at the Tokyo Paralympics, which open on August 24. Having already qualified for the women’s doubles earlier, Kohli becomes the first para-shuttler to qualify for the Paralympic Games in all three events.
