Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) president Rajinder Gupta, according to information available, has resigned from the post. However, neither Gupta nor other PCA office-bearers confirmed the development. Sources claimed that since the PCA elections are scheduled for later this year, Gupta decided to resign on personal grounds.

Notably, in September 2019, Gupta had come close to resigning from the post due to infighting in the association. However, he had decided to continue and was elected unanimously for his second term. “He has been thinking about it for the past few months,” said a source.

PCA honorary treasurer RP Singla also resigned according to information available.

The PCA is also scheduled to call a meeting of the Apex Committee later this month.

Just days ago, PCA’s ombudsman-cum-ethics officer Justice HS Bhalla had ordered a lifetime ban on two former PCA office-bearers, GS Walia and MP Pandove, from all cricketing activities.
