Punjab FC scored an injury-time penalty to play out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Aizawl FC in their I-League match here today.

Sergio Barboza scored from the spot in the sixth minute of injury time to break the hearts of the Aizawl fans.

Jonathan Lalrawngbawla gave Aizawl the lead in the fourth minute before Makan Chothe equalised a minute later. Barboza gave Punjab the lead in the 15th minute but a brace by Rochharzela (18th and 40th minutes) helped the hosts turn the tables. Aizawl were seconds away from getting their second win of the season when Barboza struck. The draw takes Punjab FC to second place on the table, while Aizawl remain at sixth. — PTI

ISL: Chennaiyin win ‘Southern derby’

Chennai: Chennaiyin FC defeated Kerala Blasters FC 3-1 in an Indian Super League encounter here today to secure their second win of the season. The home team rode on goals by Andre Schembri (4th minute), LZ Chhangte (30th) and Nerijus Valskis (40th) to secure victory after two straight draws. Bartholomew Ogbeche (15th) scored for Kerala. The result saw Chennaiyin leapfrog Blasters into the eighth position while the visitors’ winless run stretched to eight matches. pti
