PV Sindhu and Kiren Rijiju serve fitness goals together
Arunachal MP and Parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju shared the net with Indian badminton ace PV Sindhu for some doubles action on Saturday morning. The two convened as a part of the Fit India Movement at the Constitution Club in New Delhi.
Rijiju took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to post about his day with Sindhu captioning, “Super Saturday Morning for Fit India movement with Double Olympic Medalist, our pride World Champion @Pvsindhu1” The two were also joined by Sindhu’s now husband Venkata Datta Sai.

Launched by PM Modi in 2019, the movement aims to make fitness an integral part of Indian lifestyle by urging behavioural changes to move towards a more physically charged routine.
This isn’t the first time however, the two have met. Rijiju has been a serial supporter of Sindhu’s craft with one of his meetings with Sindhu coming after the star donned her bronze at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Sindhu gifted badminton racquets to, then Union Law Minister, Rijiju with their meeting (this time around) bringing an engaging interaction.
Huge honour for sports fraternity as @Pvsindhu1 is conferred with Padma Bhushan Award for her achievements in sports for India. Congratulations !!
Thank you Sindhu for gifting me top quality badminton rackets & also for teaching me how to wrap the racket handle grip !! pic.twitter.com/z3fxuqUr4g

Interactions aside, Sindhu has struggled to find her footing at the top order. While a glimpse of her, once fluent, form was on display at the Malysia Masters, she falters at managing a consistent drive.
Despite her problems, Sindhu continues to be regarded as one of India’s greatest star. Her standing made evident with her five world championship medals, including a gold in 2019 accompanied by a silver and bronze at the Olympic Games.
Sindhu will be back in action at the Super 750 tour scheduled between 14-19 January. With an ability to put on stellar performances, all eyes will be set on the World no.14 as she looks to cast the doubts aside.
