Indian golfers Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar were at tied-14th in the 60-player field after two rounds of the women’s golf competition. Aditi shot a 1-under 71 after a first round 72 and Diksha carded a 72 after a first round 71. Aditi had four birdies, all in succession from the sixth to the ninth against bogeys on the third, fifth and 12th. Diksha had birdies on the third and 11th and stayed 2-under till she came to the 18th, where she messed a third shot with a wedge and ended with a double bogey. Swiss star Morgane Metraux set the course alight with an 8-under 28 front nine with two eagles and four birdies. The back nine, in contrast, had three bogeys and one birdie in a round of 66 that put her on top at 8-under.

French runner proposes to boyfriend after race

Rarely has an Olympics pin contained so much love. When French runner Alice Finot got down on one knee and proposed to her boyfriend after her Olympics steeplechase race, she attached a “Love is in Paris” pin on his shirt. “I told myself that if I ran under nine minutes, knowing that nine is my lucky number and that we’ve been together for nine years, then I would propose,” Finot said. Finot finished fourth in 8 minutes, 58.67 seconds on Tuesday and then ran over to the stands where she found her boyfriend, Spanish triathlete Bruno Martinez. “I don’t like doing things like everyone else,” Finot said. “Since he hadn’t done it yet, I thought maybe it was up to me.”
