Rajesh, Tillingyami win best athletes titles

Rajesh Notia and Tillingyami were adjudged best athletes of men and women category, respectively, on the concluding day of the 21st annual sports meet of Sri Sukhmani Group of Institutions (Dera Bassi) today. Preeti was named Sportsperson of the Year.

Aijaz, Amrender and Manish Kumar meanwhile claimed first three positions, respectively, in the men 1500m event. In the men 200m race, Rajesh Notia won the top position, followed by Yogendra at second position and Kulwinder Singh at third. In the girls’ category, Tillingyani, Preeti and Nitika claimed the top three positions, respectively. Kabina won the women’s discus throw gold, while Tillingyani claimed silver and Snehal bagged bronze. In the men’s category, Mafaz, Rafaqat and Pardeep won the top three positions, respectively Kanchan, Tillingyani and Snehal were the three winners of the shot put event, whereas in men’s long jump Notia, Pardeep and Harkirat Singh were the first three winners, respectively.
