Jordan’s championship sneakers sell for record $8m

A set of six individual Air Jordan sneakers worn by Michael Jordan during NBA finals sold for $8 million at an auction here, setting a new global auction record for game-worn sneakers, auction house Sotheby’s said. The shoes were worn by Jordan in the clinching games of his six career NBA championships. Meanwhile, the napkin on which Barcelona promised to sign 13-year-old Lionel Messi will be auctioned in March for a starting price of £300,000, British auction house Bonhams said.
