Senior India batsman Rohit Sharma was today declared “clinically fit” by the Indian cricket board (BCCI), but notably, he would be required to work on his endurance.

Sharma is expected to leave for Australia on Sunday, and he would be in quarantine for 14 days there. He could play in the last two Tests, subject to a positive assessment by the squad’s medical team. BCCI today stated that the National Cricket Academy medical team was satisfied with his fitness “after assessing him on different metrics that tested his skills related to batting, fielding and running between the wickets”. The Mumbai batsman had suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL.— PTI
