New Delhi, October 13

Rifle shooters Elavenil Valarivan and Gaayathri N and skeet shooter Angad Vir Singh Bajwa have confirmed that they will not be available for the camp for various reasons. The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) had asked all the shooters and coaches to confirm their participation latest by October 12. All others have confirmed their participation.

Current world No. 1 Elavenil has opted out of the camp due to her university exams, while Gaayathri has pulled out as her parents were worried about travelling to New Delhi amidst Covid-19. It is understood that Falco doesn’t want to risk infection.

The 24-year-old Angad doesn’t want to break his training schedule and feels safe shooting at his home range in Dera Bassi, near Chandigarh. Mairaj, who was amongst the first set of shooters to return to training when the Tughlakabad shooting ranges were reopened in July, too doesn’t want to break his training schedule by joining the camp.
