Shrawasti Kundilya outplayed second seed Gurmannat Kaur to set up the title clash with top seed Radha in the girls’ U-14 category during the Roots-AITA Talent Series (TS7) National Ranking Championship, today.
Shrawasti defeated the second seed 6-2 7-6(4). Radha meanwhile defeated Sidhak Kaur 6-3 6-1 in an easy encounter. In the girls’ U-16 semifinals, top seed Vanya Arora ousted Isheeta Midha 6-4 6-3 and second seed Bhumika Gupta defeated Radha 6-1 6-2.
Harwin Singh overpowered a tough challenge by registering a comeback 4-6 6-4 7-5 win over Anuj Pal to reach into the boys’ U-14 final. He will be facing Gurbaaz Singh, who defeated Harveer Singh in straight sets 6-3 6-3. Anirudh Sangra stormed into the boys’ U-16 finals by defeating Harmanjit Singh 6-3 6-3. Shraeyvir registered a stunning win over Divjot Singh Tiwana to become the second finalist. Shraeyvir lost the first set narrowly 6-7(6), but managed to register a 7-6(3) 6-1 comeback to reach into the final.
