Kritika, Janice and Gurnoor, all from Dronacharya house, claimed top three positions, respectively, in the girls’ U-14 long jump event during the 8th Annual Athletics Meet of Tribune Model School (Sector 29), held at the Sector 7 Sports Complex, here today.

In the boys’ U-14 category of the same event, Harman of Chanakya house claimed the top position, while Devinder of Dronacharya house claimed the runners-up position. Ritesh of Shankracharya house won the third position. Jaspreet of Shankracharya house claimed the girls’ U-17 long jump gold, followed by Pushpa of Dronacharya house at second position and Riya of Chanakya house at third. Harsh of Vishwamitra house won the boys’ U-17 gold medal and Manmeet of Chanakya house ended as the runners-up. Ayush of Chanakya house claimed the third podium position. In the boys’ 4x100m relay race, the Dronacharaya house team of Ansh, Naman, Chitransh and Shubham claimed the top podium position. The Shankracharya house team—Sahil, Aryan, Harsh and Gauransh—claimed second position and the Chanakya house team—Mehbubal, Aditya, Dhabal and Prashant— won third position.

The Shankracharya team of Mahi, Kashish, Ananya and Tamanna won the girls’ 4x100m relay race gold medal. The team of Chanakya house—Jasmine, Laxmi, Pragati and Sakshi—won the second position. Sahanshi, Gunjan, Diksha and Ayushi from Vishwamitra house finished at the third position. The team of Dronacharaya house won the mixed 4x400m relay gold medal. The team was represented by Vansh, Ayush, Manini and Sakshi. The Shankracharya house team—Yuvraj, Ayush, Soumya and Ramneet claimed the second position and the Chanakya house—Gursehaj, Akhil,Anubha and Laxmi—won the third position. In the girls’ long jump event for classes IV to V, Tamanna, Ananya (both Shankracharya house) and Sakshi (Dronacharaya house) claimed the first three positions, respectively. In the boys’ category, Ansh (Dronacharaya house), Aryan (Shankracharya house) and Prince (Vishwamitra house) won the top three positions, respectively.

The motto of the meet was ‘Respect, Commitment, Encouragement and Growth’. The School principal Vandana Saxena flagged off the meet. The students of Tribune Model School participated in amah past, followed by the lighting of the Olympic flame by the national qualified players of the school. Sandeep Chandana and Rupak from Post Gradate Government College (Sector 11) supervised the meet.
