Viraj Kalte scored a quick fire 86 off 26 balls to Beas XI confirm their berth in the final of the Divyang IPL, at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, here. The Beas XI lads posted a 76-run win over Ravi XI in one of the semifinals, played today. Batting first, Beas XI posted 132/8 in a match which was reduced to 6 overs each side. Kalte’s innings was supported by Prithviraj Ramteke, who posted 30 off 20 balls. Sameer, Gupreet and Vicky claimed two wickets each for the bowling side. In reply, Ravi XI posted 56/8 in allotted 6 overs. Ajay Kumar (18), Gupreet (10) and Manan (9) were the main contributors in the team’s total. Kalte and Surinder Singh claimed two wickets each, while Anil Kanwar claimed one for the bowling side.
In the second semifinal, Silent Heroes logged a 28-run win over Jhelum. Batting first, Silent Heroes posted 63/6 in 6 overs with the help of SA Kaleep (40 off 21 balls), Gurinder (11) and Harshal (11). Abhimanu took two wickets, while K Thirumaram and Sudish claimed one wicket each. In reply, Jhelum lads scored 35 runs before getting all out in 4 overs. Sudish (16), Jitender (4) and Abhishek (2) were the main contributors in the chase. Lucky claimed four wickets, while Harshal grabbed three for the bowling side. Gurimnder also contributed as he claimed two wickets. Earlier, in the league matches, Ravi XI logged a 10-wicekt win over Chenab, Jhelum defeated AICAD XI by 18runs, Beas XI defeated Silent Heroes by three runs and Deaf Warriors posted a 30-run win over Satluj XI.
