The lifter in question was to be part of the team scheduled to take part in the Asian Weightlifting Championships, but has now been dropped after the suspension.

Traces of androsterone, testosterone and etiocholanone were found in her samples. These substances are listed as anabolic agents in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list of substances.

The Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWLF) announced a seven-member team, including Olympic hopefuls Mirabai Chanu (49kg) and Jeremy Lalrinnunga, for the competition to be held in Tashkent from April 16 to 25.

Her sample was collected in November. The lifter was asked to leave the National Institute of Sports in Patiala after the federation received an adverse analytical finding (AAF) report indicating presence of prohibitive substances in her sample.

She left the national camp in November and was tested upon re-joining the camp.
