Talwar earns PGA Canada card

Young golfer Saptak Talwar has earned the playing rights on the PGA Tour Canada for 2021. Talwar earned the rights when he finished tied-4th at the Mackenzie Tour Qualifying Tournament in Howey-in-the-Hills (Florida, USA), with a four-round total of a 9-under. “I have been dreaming of becoming a professional golfer since the age of six and to start the journey at such a prestigious tour is truly an honour and I cannot wait for the season to start,” Talwar said. One hundred and six players competed in the tournament, played on March 2-5. The 22-year-old Talwar ended six strokes behind the tournament winner, Luis Gagne. New Delhi native Talwar shot 69-74-67-69 for a 279, with a record 21 birdies, the highest in the field. Talwar, who took up golf at age five, moved to the US after Class X in India. He combined golf and studies at the International Junior Golf Academy. Agencies
