Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal worked his magic to grab five wickets in his second successive match as Northamptonshire resisted a Leicestershire fightback to secure a nine-wicket win in the English County Championship. Following up on his 4/82 in the first innings, Chahal claimed 5/134 as Northants bowled out Leicestershire for 316 to set an easy target of 137 in the Division Two County Championship.

Lifter Dhanush wins bronze at Junior World C’ships

Loganathan Dhanush claimed the bronze medal in the 55kg weight category at the IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championships. The 17-year-old lifted a total of 231kg, also securing a bronze in the snatch event with 107kg. Dhanush competed in Group B. The lifters with the highest entry weights are placed in Group A, followed by B and so on.
