Patiala's Thapar institute among top 100 in NIRF rankings

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology has bagged overall 51st rank in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development on Thursday. The institute is second in the state following Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, which has bagged the 39th rank on the overall list comprising 100 institutes.
Other institutes from Punjab that feature on the list include Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar.
Meanwhile, Punjabi University, Patiala, is ranked 64th in the universities’ category.
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala, is on the 10th spot among 97 law universities.
The parameters of the ranking covers teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception on the basis of which points are awarded out of 100 each.
