Officials said the talks centred on advancing cooperation in strategic and digital technologies, building resilient and trusted digital infrastructure, and promoting innovation-driven partnerships between the two sides.

“The discussions reflected the shared ambition of India and the EU to build a secure, inclusive, and sustainable digital future,” an official said, noting that both sides also exchanged views on artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity frameworks, and digital skills development.

The India–EU Trade and Technology Council, established in April 2022 following the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, serves as a high-level platform to coordinate policy approaches on trade, trusted technology and security.

Officials underlined that as two large democracies with open market economies and shared values, India and the EU are natural partners in shaping a rules-based digital order in an increasingly multipolar world.
