Woman dangles children to rescue them from burning Ahmedabad building; video goes viral
On Friday, a dramatic rescue unfolded in Ahmedabadโs Khokhra area when two children were saved from a burning apartment. A woman, trapped in the building with another woman and two children, managed to pass the kids through a staircase balcony to two men positioned on the floor below.
A video of the incident, now widely shared on social media, shows thick smoke filling the background as the woman carefully lowers the children without any protective gear. The men below catch them and swiftly move them to safety.
Shortly after, the woman herself attempts to escape through the same tight space. She slips momentarily, but the men react quickly, grabbing her legs and helping her down safely.

At least 18 persons were rescued after the fire broke out, officials said.
The fire began around 3:30 pm and was brought under control by 6 pm, said an official at the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) control room. No one was injured, he added.
Deputy Fire Officer Rameshpuri Goswami said 18 persons were rescued.
The fire started in the wire duct which runs from the ground floor to the top, he said.
About the viral video, Goswami said some people panicked as heat and smoke made it difficult for them to use the stairs to get down.
"Smoke filled the passages, making it difficult for residents to come out of their flats. After reaching the spot, we rescued 18 residents and brought the fire under control. No one was injured in the incident," said the fire officer.
