American travel vlogger Drew Binsky has shared a chilling account of being stranded in Himachal Pradesh, caught in the chaos of massive landslides during peak monsoon season.

In a now-viral Instagram video, Binsky described the danger, saying, “There are actually 20 landslides within 10 miles of us right now. Absolutely insane and very scary.”

Filming from the scene, Binsky showed the damage around him, blocked roads, and rising rivers.

“We don’t know how many days we’ll be stuck. Rocks are still falling. All the workers are trying to fix it,” he said. “We’re basically stuck in no man’s land for an unknown amount of time.”

The video, viewed nearly 4.5 lakh times, drew concern and mixed reactions. While many sympathised and wished him well, others questioned his decision to travel during the monsoon.

“Avoid mountain areas during monsoon,” one user warned. Another commented, “You’re brave, but this wasn’t the best time to visit.”

According to the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority, 208 people have died this season. Around 400 roads are blocked, including one national highway, and over 700 power transformers are down.

Mandi and Kullu are among the hardest-hit districts.
