'Battle of Baghpat’ turns 4: Internet revisits the iconic ‘chaat’ feud
Four years ago, a street-side chaat war in UP’s Baghpat turned into an internet sensation, with people jokingly referencing it as a notable ‘battle’. As the anniversary of the infamous brawl arrives, netizens are once again reliving the chaotic yet comical fight between the street vendors.
The incident unfolded in February 2021, when a video of a chaotic street fight between men with sticks went viral. The fight was between street vendors who were competing to attract more customers to their stalls.
The video saw the street vendors engage in a full-fledged tussle with torn kurtas, flying punches and attacks with sticks while rolling on the ground struggling to get up and fight more. While the fight itself was intense, it was the visuals — especially of an elderly man with striking white hair, later dubbed ‘Einstein chacha’ — that made the clash go viral.
Four years on, the echoes of the battle of Baghpat still thunder. The warriors of fought not for survival, but for glory, honor, and an unyielding thirst for dominance.
They wielded sticks, chairs, and bare hands, but their greatest weapon was the fire in their hearts. The earth… pic.twitter.com/ipdKn2vYlU
