‘Behti ganga mein photo dhona’: Viral poster promises snan in Mahakumbh for Rs 500 while sitting at home

Netizens left amused, while some call it a fraud

A viral poster promoting the 2025 Mahakumbh claims that devotees can take a holy dip without actually being there.

For Rs 500, people can WhatsApp their photo, which will be photocopied and immersed in the sacred river on their behalf.

The poster was shared on an X handle named @drprashantmish6.

The user captioned it, “Work from home suna tha Now Dip from Home Hadd ho gayi” With over 40k views, the ‘Dip from home’ ad has left the internet with mixed reactions.

While some are amused with this offer, others called it a “fraud”.

“Behti ganga mein photo dhona”, a user commented. Another user asked, “group photo bhi accept karte hai???”

While another user commented, “Few people never miss out the opportunity to scam.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
