A woman allegedly poisoned her realtor husband last week with the help of her mother in Bengaluru over his alleged extramarital affairs and illegal business dealings.
The two accused have been arrested, said the police.
The incident came to light when the body of the 37-year-old victim, Loknath Singh, was found in an abandoned car in a deserted area in Chikkabanavara on Saturday.
According to the police the accused spiked the man’s food with sleeping pills in order to make him feel drowsy. They then drove him to a secluded spot where they slit his throat before fleeing from the spot.
The police said that the man was killed due to his alleged extramarital affairs and illegal business transactions.
Loknath was said to be in a relationship with the woman for two years before registering their marriage in December. His family was against the relationship due to the age gap, both sides were not aware about the marriage until two weeks ago.
This was also the time Loknath’s wife and in-laws learnt about his multiple extramarital affairs and illegal business dealings.
Constant fights between the couple soared and the two even considered talking divorce.
The situation worsened when Loknath allegedly started threatening his in-laws and warning them of dire consequences, prompting the mother-daughter duo to devise a plan to kill him.
The wife and her mother have been arrested and booked for murder.
Further investigation is underway.
