Desi mom sends 'ghar ka khana' to son's friend who hates mess food; the precious gesture warms hearts online
Chandigarh, July 10
We all have had a love-hate relationship with home-cooked food. While it’s almost impossible to resist ‘maa ke haath ke rajma chawal’, craving some Italian or Chinese every once in a while is justified as well.
However, it is only after living alone that we realise the importance and value of home-cooked food. Life comes a full circle once we move out of the house and start missing ‘mummy ke haath ka khana’.
We all know that food brings people together and a mother’s love knows no bounds.
In a recent post shared by a young doctor, food brought her closer to her friend’s mother who sent her home-cooked meals almost every day.
The doctor, who goes by the name Shruberry on Twitter, shared her ordeal with hostel food with one of her friends.
Been complaining about mess food to friend and he told his mom, so his mom’s been sending me food almost everyday. I said I couldn’t accept it anymore because I don’t have time to make anything and return the tiffins and now she sends these little notes. Humans are top tier >> pic.twitter.com/qBcM8EfmQi

On getting to know about her missing home-cooked food, the friend’s mother started sending her tiffin boxes filled with home-cooked meals and love. The icing on the cake was that the adorable mum also sent handwritten notes along with the tiffins.

On feeling awkward at her aunt’s generosity, she expressed how she could no longer accept the food as she didn’t like sending the empty lunchboxes back.
However, arguing that mothers are mothers and that children should not worry about returning empty tiffin boxes, the woman started to send “little notes” with the meals.

“Enjoy the food. Children should not bother about sending empty tiffins to mothers. You can send your love and affection with the tiffin that is more than enough. God bless you. Love, Mom,” read a note.
Feeling overwhelmed at her aunt’s gesture, the doctor wrote, “Humans are top tier”.
Her heart-warming story touched and moved many users on social media. Some even shared instances of their mothers sending food for their friends.
