“Free tickets to Seoul if your name is Ashish Gupta!” reads the headline of a now-viral Reddit post. Surprisingly, the author is completely serious.

Ashish Gupta, the original poster, had everything planned — his wedding followed by a honeymoon in Seoul. But after his fiancée backed out at the last minute, the wedding was cancelled, prompting him to put the flight tickets up online.

The post reads, “Trust me, don’t ever date Gurgaon girls! I’m putting these tickets up because my fiancée just left me. Got engaged a few months ago, and the wedding was around the corner. We rushed to book the honeymoon to Seoul because of the low prices during the sale.”

He continues, “Then came the cocktail party. I have no idea what went wrong after that, but she backed out—said she wants an open marriage. How do I even explain ‘open marriage’ to my desi family? 💀”

He ends the post with, “Ab mujhe farak nahi padta bhai (Now I don’t care). If you have the same name as me, just take the tickets and enjoy. And if you have a best friend or girlfriend named Rashi, take her along too… (yeah, that was her name).”

The post quickly went viral, with commenters expressing sympathy and encouraging Ashish to take the trip alone.

One user wrote, “Bhai tu khud hi chala ja, mauj mar le thode din. Koi bhi random Rashi ko yahan se utha le. (Bro, just go by yourself, enjoy for a few days. Pick any random Rashi from here.)”

Another commented, “Don’t they check DOB or passport number against the one used during booking? I’d recommend going solo and taking some time to heal. Stay strong, brother.”

A third added, “Go alone, man. Enjoy the trip.”
