Tazuddin was traveling from Siwan to New Delhi when he allegedly consumed alcohol with two coach attendants, Vikram Chauhan and Sonu Mehto, in the M2 coach.

According to passengers, the trio drank together after an exchange of linens and blankets. Under the influence of alcohol, Tazuddin reportedly misbehaved with women passengers and initiated a physical altercation by slapping TTE Rajesh Kumar, who had intervened to diffuse the situation.

The incident escalated into violence, with video evidence showing the TTE and Vikram Chauhan pinning Tazuddin to the floor and flogging him with a belt near the compartment gate. In one clip, Tazuddin appeared unconscious and covered in vomit as railway staff continued the assault, hurling verbal abuse.

Dheeraj Yadav, a co-traveller, informed the police that the coach attendant had taken money from Tazuddin and joined him in drinking alcohol. Yadav stated, "The coach attendant took money from the passenger and made pegs on the seat.

After drinking, the passenger started misbehaving, leading to the attendant calling the TTE. During this, the passenger slapped the TTE."

Upon being alerted, railway police intervened at Firozabad station in Uttar Pradesh, deboarding the injured passenger and escorting him to a medical facility. The TTE, Rajesh Kumar, was taken into custody, while the two coach attendants fled the scene.

Based on Tazuddin’s written complaint, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Firozabad registered a case against TTE Rajesh Kumar, Vikram Chauhan, and Sonu Mehto under Sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.  (Reports: TOI)

In response, Northern Railway authorities suspended TTE Rajesh Kumar and initiated disciplinary proceedings. Sources also confirmed the suspension of the two coach attendants, who remain at large.

Railway officials assured that strict action would follow, with further information being collected from passengers in the M2 coach.

The GRP SHO, Sushil Kumar, stated that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding and escalated into violence. He added, “Efforts are ongoing to locate the absconding attendants.”

The incident has raised concerns over staff behavior and the safety of passengers, prompting the Railways to issue a stern warning against such conduct.
