Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, celebrates 77th birthday in Mumbai
Maye Musk, mother of tech billionaire Elon Musk, is in Mumbai celebrating her 77th birthday—and her son surprised her in a big way with stunning, life-sized flower arrangements. The heartfelt gift came from the world’s wealthiest man, who is also known for his past alignment with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Taking to social media platform X, Maye shared her excitement and appreciation for the beautiful bouquets, expressing her gratitude in a warm message. “Thank you @elonmusk for sending these beautiful birthday flowers to me in Mumbai,” she said in the caption.
A former supermodel and accomplished dietitian, Maye marked her special day on April 19 by posting a nostalgic collection of birthday photos taken every five years with her children. The Tesla founder replied saying, “Love you, Mom. Thanks for everything.”
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1948, Maye Musk has enjoyed an illustrious modeling career that spans over five decades. She has graced the covers of leading fashion publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Sports Illustrated, and WWD. Beyond modeling, she holds dual Master’s degrees in nutritional science and dietetics, and was awarded an honorary doctorate in dietetics by the University of Toronto.
Just recently, she also reacted with excitement to growing diplomatic and business ties between her son and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation,” read a tweet from Modi.
Maye Musk reacted to PM Modi’s post with the heart eyes and the Indian flag emojis.
The two met earlier this year in February during Modi’s U.S. visit, with Elon Musk accompanied by three of his children at the time.
This interaction is especially notable as Tesla prepares to enter the Indian market, while Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service also aims to launch in the country. Although SpaceX has already secured partnerships with Indian telecom companies Jio and Airtel, Starlink’s rollout remains paused pending government approvals, particularly concerning spectrum allocation and security protocols.
