Five pounds of fury! Bear gets a taste of ‘Pomeranian power’ in Vancouver
In a turn of events that sounds like it’s straight out of a cartoon, a pint-sized five-pound Pomeranian in Vancouver has become an unlikely hero after chasing a much larger black bear right out of its home.
This astonishing encounter, captured on the owner’s security camera, shows the feisty canine fearlessly confronting the bewildered intruder and defending its territory.
The video was first shared by TikTok user Kayla Kleine and later reshared by journalist Colin Rugg on X.
The video shows a black bear walking into the house through the patio door. It curiously sniffs around before Scout appears, barking and growling as he chases the bear out of the house.

Kleine revealed in another TikTok video that the bear and its mom had visited the home multiple times before.
The video garnered over four million views, winning plaudits for the tiny dog.
Meanwhile, netizens were quick to react.
“Little man syndrome finally paid off,” a user wrote. “The bear will forever be ridiculed in the bear community for such an act of cowardice,” another user commented.
“When the little guy realises his power is not in his size but in his conviction and assertion. Well done little soul,” a third user reacted. “Glad the dog didn’t get hurt but let’s not pretend like of the bear wanted to,” a fourth user said.
