Indian-American Influencer talks about why India is the most difficult country to govern

India is a complex country, with multiple languages, religions and cultures mixed together. Yes, it is like a whole continent in itself and can at times get difficult to govern.

A video has been recently going viral on the internet, where an Indian-American influencer Riki, talks about how India is the most difficult country to govern and people are amused to hear such an accurate description of the country.

It is like managing a continent

Riki refers to India as a country that test the limits of human governance.

“Government comes and goes: left, right, secular, reformist and populist but the problem still remains,” she says.

Riki further said that the issue is not who is governing, “the issue is the country itself.”

She also stated that it is not about global pressure because the country is judged more harshly from within.

“Every word is dissected, every silence becomes a headline,” Riki said.

Population is a big challenge

Riki talks about how the population of India is more than the population of each of these continents: North America, South America, Europe, and Africa.

Language and culture

In the video, Riki also talks about how India has almost every big religion, so many different communities, around 700 tribes and 22 scheduled languages. She also mentioned how language is a war in itself.

While south takes pride in their own language, “try pushing Hindi there and you will get a firm no,” Riki said. On the other hand, in north, people prefer English over their own language. At times, even Hindi is not enough.

She emphasised, “Every identity is real, every group feels unheard, every region wants more.”

Security threats

The influencer also talks about how India doesn’t face one kind of terrorism but all of them including: Pakistan-backed militancy, separatist groups, lone wolves, sleepers and Naxal.

“Sometimes they live next door. The threat doesn’t break in. It already has the keys,” she said.

Adding the external challenges that the country faces with its neighbours, Riki suggested that how china tries to slice land silently, while Myanmar hides weapons. “Nepal and Bangladesh calm today chaos tomorrow,” she said.

Organised chaos

Riki says that despite the challenges India still is democratic, no dictatorship no lockdowns just debate and elections.

Stressing on how despite all the problems India has organised chaos, and ended the video by saying, “India is the most extraordinary country ever held together”.
