The flight is now expected to take off later in the day from the Mumbai airport, sources said.
IndiGo has since issued an apology, with a spokesperson confirming the delay was due to technical reasons. “The aircraft tried to depart a couple of times but was called off due to the extended time lag caused by various procedural delays,” the airline said in a statement.
The spokesperson added that assistance was provided to affected customers, including refreshments and hotel accommodations, and passengers were being rebooked. (With inputs from agencies)
