Is Smriti Mandhana set to marry Palash Muchhal on Dec 7? Brother sets the record straight
Earlier cheating rumours and social media speculation added to the drama after the wedding was postponed on November 23
Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have been in the spotlight ever since their much-anticipated wedding was postponed on November 23.
The original ceremony in Sangli was called off after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, fell seriously ill, and Palash too was admitted to hospital due to stress and health concerns. Both have since been discharged.
Recently, social media erupted with rumours that the couple had fixed December 7 as their new wedding date. Fans eagerly shared the news, but Shravan Mandhana, Smriti’s brother, clarified the speculation.
“I have no idea about these rumours. As of now, it (the wedding) is still postponed,” he told Hindustan Times.

Immediately after the postponement, social media buzzed with unverified cheating rumours, which suggested the wedding being called off might be linked to relationship issues. These rumours specifically targeted Palash Muchhal, though neither family confirmed or addressed the speculation.
According to reports, Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, revealed that both families are still recovering from the ordeal.
“Smriti and Palash dono takleef mein hain… Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome… Everything will be fine, shaadi bohot jaldi hogi,” she said in a conversation with HT.
The wedding postponement triggered a flurry of social media chatter, including unverified rumours and screenshots, dragging even the wedding choreographers, Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan, into the controversy. Both categorically denied any involvement, calling the speculations baseless.
