Chandigarh, July 29

But have you ever heard anyone being fined for driving a vehicle with insufficient fuel?

Such one of a kind incident has taken place in Kerala where a man was given fine receipt of Rs 250 which categorically mentions ‘Driving without sufficient fuel with passengers’ as committed offence.

The man has himself shared the photo of receipt on his Facebook.

Basil Syam was riding his Royal Enfieldbike and was on his way to his workplace. Police officers stopped him as he was riding in opposite direction on a one-way road. He was asked to pay Rs 250 fine which he instantly complied with. In return, he was provided with challan receipt which he right away kept in his pocket as he was on his way to his workplace.

Syam told BikeDekho that he took a glance at challan receipt after reaching office and caught sight of this peculiar provision under which he was fined.

This is not the first instance of people getting penalised in such uncanny provisions. Earlier, a man from Gujarat was challaned for ‘dangerous driving’.
