Knee-deep in water, high on spirit: Vadodara's rain-defying Garba goes viral
Chandigarh, August 31
Even though Gujarat has seen a lot of rain over the past week, the state's enthusiasm for Garba has not diminished. A group performed the Gujarati folk dance amid Vadodara's flooded streets.
A brief snippet of people performing Garba on the streets has been making the rounds online. The footage, which may have been recorded on Janmashtami, showed people walking in knee-deep water on the road while enthusiastically performing Garba. Loud applause accompanied the fun as background music was played on the loudspeaker.
No wonder why BJP still continues to rule Gujarat even after decades.
With this mentality of public they might even rule for 100 years.pic.twitter.com/l1bHqWTZvX

Since last week, the Saurashtra-Kachchh region of Gujarat has been experiencing intense rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated a deep depression in the region was expected to build into a cyclonic storm and make landfall on Friday.
While the situation has somewhat eased in other areas of the state due to less rainfall, Vadodara and some other sections of Gujarat are still experiencing flooding as a result of overflowing rivers. — With PTI inputs
