Amid the backlash over YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’, a new perspective has emerged from a person who claimed to have been present during the recording of the controversial episode, which has landed Ranveer Allahbadia and the show’s creator Samay Raina and a few others into trouble.

Video creator Mohit Khubani took to Instagram and said, “I was present in that episode. I was in the audience… That kid came, Ranveer said that joke. After saying it, Ranveer apologised (to the contestant) around three to four times…saying, ‘Sorry, aapko bura toh nahi laga (hope you didn’t feel bad)."

Khubani admitted that an apology doesn’t erase everything, but emphasised that Allahbadia made a genuine effort to check on the young contestant’s feelings. He also revealed that the contestant went on to win the competition that day.

"That child won. Everyone celebrated after he won. Ranveer hugged him and asked again, ‘You okay? Sorry, if you felt bad for that joke.’ Samay also said, ‘You killed it, bhai. Crazy."

Wrapping up his message, Khubani urged people to look at the full picture before jumping to conclusions.

“I am only asking everyone not to spread hate unnecessarily,” he said.

Khubani’s video quickly went viral, amassing over millions of views and flooded with comments.

Viewers took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the situation.

One person wrote, “Hope this reaches that kid and he speaks about his experience!” Another user, who said that she was a contestant in one of the episodes of India’s Got Talent, commented, “I had a similar experience… I was a performer and want to share 2 things.. Mera set bilkul nahi chala and main bura wala troll hui..(I got trolled for bad performance) but man man man…Be it Samay, Balraj, Rahul, Kenny, Hozay everyone was sorry and made sure I was comfy…” She added, “…he even asked k agar air hua to issue nhi hoga na…bts humse pucho.. bhai hum Gaye roast hone k liye .hume issue nhi h…duniya ko kya problem h? (He even asked if I would be okay if it was aired. We went to get roasted. If we don’t have a problem, why does the world?).”

Another user commented, “Exactly if Samay asked him multiple times that if he is comfortable with it then only he aired that part in the ep otherwise he could have easily edited it out because he knows that this joke might cause a chaos which it actually did because of some illiterate people and haters.”

Allahbadia is facing a case over his remarks during an appearance as a guest judge on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent’. The comments triggered public outrage, leading to FIRs against Allahbadia, Raina, and the other judges on that episode, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija. Complaints were filed by the Maharashtra Cyber Department, Guwahati Police, and Jaipur Police.
