Netizens pluck 'love storiyan' out of Brahmastra's 'Kesariya' song and Twitter had a troll fest
Chandigarh, July 24
While one is completely immersed in the romantic zone stoked up with Arijit Singh’s voice, expect Bollywood to slyly slide in an English word in a Hindi song to ruin the pleasure.
Who likes an ‘elaichi’ in biryani, right? Well, the ‘love storiyan’ phrase in the song ‘Kesariya’ from the forthcoming movie ‘Brahmastra’ is just that for some fans.
Lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya has been scrutinised for stealthily sneaking in the phrase like an old friend from the English dictionary as if it will mix up like salt in water.
The lyrics of the song go: “Rabba ne tujhko bannane mein, kardi hai husn ki khaali tijoriyan, kajal ki syaahi se likhi hai tune jaane, kitno ki love storiyan.”
Netizens opined that the usage was forced and stood out for the wrong reasons.
Film director Ayan Mukherjee defended the phrase saying it was like “a pinch of salt in a sweet dish”.
While the composers of the song managed to make the English lyrics sit on the same bench as the Hindi ones, netizens are having a hard time to drink up this salty slurry. They took it with a whole dash of salt and a lot more memes.

Maybe the ‘Brahmastra’ team was trying to pull off this heist of sneaking in an English phrase in Hindustani lyrics, however, seems like not only did the plan backfired, some fans came up with far more soothing renditions of their own.
A singer named Harsh More shared his own version of the song on Instagram in which he creatively omitted the ‘love storiyan’ bit and “fixed” it with ‘ye dooriyan’.
His rendition went crazy viral with over 9 million views. Praising Harsh for his creativity, a user wrote, “Love Storiyan is the wound and you are the band-aid.”
‘Brahmastra- the Trilogy’, a 3-part film franchise starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, among others is set to hit the theatres in September this year.
