'Nowadays, you fighting on Twitter': Modi’s joke on Macron-Trump online spat sparks laughter
At the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lightened the mood with a humorous remark to French President Emmanuel Macron.
As the two leaders met, Modi quipped, “Nowadays, you are fighting on Twitter?”—a reference to Macron’s recent online spat with former US President Donald Trump.

The light-hearted comment drew laughter from both leaders and quickly went viral on social media. Modi and Macron also shared a warm hug.
The meeting was part of PM Modi’s series of bilateral engagements at the 51st G7 Summit.

PM Modi’s remark was in reference to a recent online spat between President Macron and former US President Donald Trump, which captured widespread attention on social media.
Following Trump’s early departure from the G7 Summit, Macron suggested to the media that there was an opportunity for US-mediated dialogue between Israel and Iran.
