Chandigarh, August 1
It was the looming deadline on Sunday to file income tax returns for the financial year 2021-2022. Since most people keep everything for the very last minute, taxpayers made a bee-line to complete their submissions.
Since it is one of the most hectic periods for chartered accountants, the government’s refusal for extension of the deadline to file the returns, only added to their woes.
However, over all the last minute hush and frenzy, stressed netizens set Twitter abuzz with hilarious memes in the hour of panic.
Hashtag ‘ITRFiling’ was among the top trends on Sunday inspiring funny memes online.
Read a few memes by taxpayers venting their frustration:
Netizens had demanded an extension for filing the income tax returns citing technical glitches on the e-filing portal taking eons to load. A hashtag ‘Extend_Due_Date_Immediately’ was also trending on Twitter over the weekend.
