A man who makes Rs 82,000 a month said that his wage is insufficient to sustain his family because of a large home loan, so he resorted to Reddit for suggestions on how to obtain a second job. A debate concerning financial hardships and what it takes to live comfortably in our nation has been triggered by his now-viral article.

The Reddit user, who works a 9–6 job, clarified that he paid back his Rs 46 lakh home loan with a significant amount of his paycheck, Rs 36,000.  He looked for ways to make an additional Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per month because there were few career options in his town and he was unable to move because of family obligations.

"So I work in a 9-6 job and earn 82000/- rupees per month. However, my income is not sufficient to run a family as I have a large chunk of a Home Loan to pay for. I am looking for ideas via which I can generate some extra income," the post read.

"I am good at public speaking, customer service, designing via Canva and PowerPoint, and usually read history and literature to learn more about them. Can you all please guide me on what I can do that fits my schedule and I can earn a little more, like 15-20k rupees a month?"he continued.

Opinions from other Redditors poured into the replies. While some expressed confusion about how Rs 82,000 was insufficient, others offered advice.

One of the comments said,” Send your child in an adoption centre. Tell your wife to get a job. And never have a second child. After you are financially stable, then adopt your own child back from the adoption centre”.

Another said, “Upskill and switch jobs. That's it.”

Other replies advised the user to start a YouTube channel, do an MBA, or start freelancing.

The post is an apt depiction of life in India can be ludicrously expensive for most people.
