A video circulating on social media claims to show a Chinese 'spy robot' deployed along the India-China border, sparking debate and speculation about China's military technology advancements.
The footage, reportedly recorded in a high-altitude region, shows a humanoid-like structure positioned alone in the mountainous valley near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). While some online posts allege the structure is a fully functional robot monitoring troop movements, officials have not verified the video's authenticity and defence authorities on both sides remain silent.

However, officials have not verified the authenticity of the video, nor has there been confirmation from any defence authority on either side. The Tribune cannot verify the authentication of the viral video.
Experts caution the object could be a misidentified equipment stand, optical illusion or decoy structure. Despite the uncertainty, the video has ignited conversations about China's rapid progress in AI, autonomous surveillance, and humanoid robotics, potentially signaling a shift in modern border monitoring strategies.
Until official verification is provided, the claims remain speculative.
