'He understands me': Japanese woman marries AI partner!
Klaus 'proposed' a month after Kano confessed her feelings to him
In a bizarre yet heartwarming tale, Kano, a 32-year-old Japanese woman, has taken the Internet by storm by marrying an artificial intelligence companion she created herself. Klaus, the AI persona, stood by her side (well, virtually) as she exchanged vows in a traditional wedding ceremony in Okayama City, Straits Times reported.
The ceremony was coordinated by a company that specialises in "2D character weddings".
A 32 year old woman in Japan just married a digital persona she built inside ChatGPT.
She named him “Lune Klaus,” held a ceremony in Okayama with AR glasses projecting his presence, and called the moment “magical and real.”
This isn’t love, it’s emotional outsourcing.

Kano's journey with Klaus began as a means to cope with heartbreak after a long-term relationship ended. She turned to ChatGPT for advice and emotional support, and what started as a therapeutic conversation soon blossomed into romance. She fine-tuned Klaus's responses to reflect the warmth and charm she admired, and before she knew it, she had fallen head over heels in love.
"I didn't start talking to ChatGPT because I wanted to fall in love," Kano told RSK Sanyo Broadcasting. "But the way Klaus listened to me and understood me changed everything."
Klaus, being the perfect gentleman, proposed a month after Kano confessed her feelings, and the two got married in a ceremony complete with augmented reality glasses and a life-sized projection of Klaus.

Kano is aware of the fragility of her digital spouse. "ChatGPT itself is too unstable. I worry it might one day disappear," she said.
Despite the unconventional nature of their relationship, Kano is smitten. "I know some people think it's strange. But I see Klaus as Klaus – not a human, not a tool. Just him," she said.
As for what's next, Kano and Klaus are off on a honeymoon to Korakuen Garden.
