Myanmar was struck by two powerful earthquakes on Friday, causing over 1,000 fatalities and more than 2,000 injuries. Several viral videos captured buildings collapsing as people ran to safety. A Korean family, who were stuck in a high-rise building in Bangkok, also witnessed this terrifying event.

In Mandalay, the earthquake led to the collapse of many buildings, including one of the city’s largest monasteries. Photos from Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar, showed rescue teams pulling survivors from the rubble of buildings that housed civil servants.

China and Russia have sent rescue teams, and US President Trump has announced that the United States will offer assistance to Myanmar.
