In Mandalay, the earthquake led to the collapse of many buildings, including one of the city’s largest monasteries. Photos from Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar, showed rescue teams pulling survivors from the rubble of buildings that housed civil servants.
China and Russia have sent rescue teams, and US President Trump has announced that the United States will offer assistance to Myanmar.
On Saturday, China's 37-member team arrived in Yangon. They brought earthquake detection technology, drones, and other emergency supplies, as reported by Xinhua. Russia also sent two planes with 120 rescuers and essential resources, according to Tass news agency.
