Akshaye Khanna has been dominating social media in recent days, thanks to his striking performance as Rehman Dakait in "Dhurandhar".
The actor’s intense role has earned widespread praise, but it’s his unexpected dance sequence to the Arabic track "FA9LA" that has truly sent the internet into a frenzy.
His carefree, charismatic moves in the viral clip have sparked countless reactions—and now, even nostalgic comparisons.
A decades-old video featuring Akshaye’s father, legendary actor Vinod Khanna, is resurfacing online and gaining new traction. The clip shows Vinod Khanna and Bollywood icon Rekha dancing alongside former Pakistan cricket captain and ex–Prime Minister Imran Khan during a cross-border charity event.
Fans are now pointing out striking similarities between Vinod Khanna's playful dance in the archive footage and Akshaye’s now-famous entry scene in "Dhurandhar". In both videos, the actors dance with arms stretched wide, moving with an effortless, joyous sway. The resemblance has amused viewers, with one user on X commenting, “Now I understand that Akshaye Khanna has copied his father in "Dhurandhar".

The viral clip reportedly dates back to a 1989 charity event in Lahore and captures a nostalgic, lighthearted moment between Vinod Khanna and Rekha on stage. Social media users are now sharing it widely, placing it side-by-side with Akshaye’s trendy dance from Dhurandhar.
Adding to the buzz, Akshaye’s co-star Danish Pandor recently revealed in an interview with Filmygyan that the actor’s viral moves were not choreographed at all.
He recalled:
“We shot this in Leh Ladakh. Vijay Ganguly was choreographing the song, and everyone was gearing up for the sequence. Akshaye sir suddenly asked Aditya sir, ‘Can I dance?’ And Aditya sir said, ‘Do whatever you like.’”
Danish added that Akshaye spontaneously improvised the entire sequence: “There’s no choreography for him. He just started dancing on his own. Everyone was stunned—people began applauding after the shot. It looked incredible on camera. He’s terrific.”
Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, released on December 5 and continues to spark conversations—not just for its storyline, but now for the Khanna family’s delightful cross-generational dance connection.
