Singer Chhannulal Mishra shifted to BHU hospital after heart issue

Mishra was earlier admitted to a hospital in Mirzapur as he needed treatment due to a lack of haemoglobin and bed sores

Singer Chhannulal Mishra, who was being treated for a lack of haemoglobin and bed sores, was shifted to Sir Sunderlal Hospital in Varanasi after he suffered a heart-related issue, people aware of his health said.

Mishra (89), a Padma Vibhushan awardee, was admitted to the ICU of a hospital affiliated with the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), where doctors said that his condition is stable.

Dr Rajesh Bind, the personal assistant to the principal of Maa Vindhyavasini Medical College (Mirzapur), late Saturday night said that while there was no major concern, yet as a precautionary measure, he has been shifted to the hospital. There is nothing to worry about, he added.

Earlier on Saturday, Mishra was admitted to Ramkrishna Mission Hospital in Mirzapur. He needed treatment due to a lack of haemoglobin and bed sores.

Mishra’s daughter, Namrata Mishra, told PTI that her father's health had suddenly deteriorated a few days ago. When Mishra’s blood and urine were tested, haemoglobin was found to be low. After this, he was admitted to the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital near his residence. Later, he was moved to Sir Sunderlal Hospital for treatment.
