Ajay Thakur, having 30 criminal cases to his name, was arrested after a video of him celebrating his girlfriend’s birthday went viral.
On Sunday, Thakur had ventured out with his girlfriend leading a convoy of black cars. The cars drove recklessly and performed stunts while its occupants wielded Illegal firearms, the police said.
The car convoy had no number plates with two of them fitted with a siren and another flaunting an unclear flag. The convoy was seen carrying terrific speed with the potential to cause harm to the pedestrians.

After the video surfaced online (posted by Thakur) himself, it generated negative reception on social media and drew the attention of the police. As a result, Thakur was arrested by the police on Tuesday, lodging two FIRs against him in the process.
DCP (South) Ashish Srivastava said, “We are aware of the incident involving unregistered vehicles. Investigations are underway to identify the owners, and action will be taken under the Motor Vehicles Act.”
