At least six people, including a Spanish national, were killed and 21 others injured when two gunmen opened fire at a crowded bus stop in Jerusalem’s Ramot Junction during Monday morning rush hour.
The assailants, identified by Israeli authorities as Palestinians in their early twenties from villages near Ramallah, were shot dead at the scene by a security officer and an armed civilian, local media reports suggested.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the “heinous terrorist attack on innocent civilians” in a post on X, extending condolences to the victims’ families and wishing a “speedy recovery to those injured.” He reiterated that India stands by its “policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism”.
