After virus surge, China builds hospital in 5 days
Beijing, January 16
China on Saturday finished building a 1,500-room hospital for Covid patients in five days to fight a surge in infections in a city south of Beijing, state media reported. The hospital is one of six with 6,500 rooms being built in Nangong in Hebei province. China has attributed its surge in virus cases to travellers entering the country or contaminated frozen food imports.
US President-elect Joe Biden has said he will ensure 100 million Americans are vaccinated in the first 100 days of his administration.
