Chandigarh, July 19

In view of the raging pandemic, Tokyo Olympics organisers have decided to enforce social-distancing. They are promoting ‘anti-sex’ beds so that athletes stay away from one another and don’t become too intimate.

These beds are made of cardboard and can take the weight of one person.

‘It’s sturdy’, assure Tokyo Olympic organisers after ‘anti-sex’ bed claims spark a row

American athlete Paul Chelimo took to Twitter, talking about the arrangements. He said, “Beds to be installed in Tokyo Olympic Village will be made of cardboard, this is aimed at avoiding intimacy among athletes. Beds will be able to withstand the weight of a single person to avoid situations beyond sports. I see no problem for distance runners, even 4 of us can do,” he tweeted.

In another tweet, he said, “At this point I will have to start practicing how to sleep on the floor; cause if my bed collapses and I have no training on sleeping on the floor I’m done.”

The tweets led to lots of reactions on the microblogging site as people were appalled by the concept. Some even supported the idea.
