Australia’s intense heatwave lead a thirsty Koala to a cyclist in Adelaide. A heartwarming clip of a Koala sipping water in the middle of the road has gone viral.
A group of cyclists were riding from Adelaide from Norton Summit Road, when they suddenly ran into the Koala that was sitting on the road, according to a report by 7 News.
One of the cyclists—Anna Heusler—revealed that running into Koalas isn’t unusual in Southern Australia. But the surprising thing was hot the Koala reacted after seeing them.
The Koala stopped her cycle and quickly climbed up. It began gesturing as if it wanted to drink water. Anna gave water to the Koala from her bottle and the entire scene was recorded by another cyclist.
The koala, which was luckily unharmed by the region’s bushfires, was carefully escorted back into nearby trees by Anna.
The bushfires have engulfed over 1000 homes and around 25,000 hectares of land in South Australia.
The heartwarming video received several comments.
